Anti Ragging

ANTI-RAGGING CELL

Dr. N.S.A.M. FGC is a ragging free campus. A number of anti-ragging measures are in place to ensure strict compliance. Orientation programmes are conducted to sensitize students about the ill-effects of this practice.Strict disciplinary action will be taken by the college in case of any ragging incident comes to its notice. The attention of the students is also drawn to the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India; wherein it is mandatory for the institution to file a complaint with the Police Authority, and with all 'resulting consequences.

  • The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the matter of "University of Kerala v/s. Council, Principals, Colleges and others" in SLP no. 24295 of 2006 dated 16.05.2007, 8.05.2009 in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009
  • Hon’ble Supreme Court of India order—Curbing Ragging in Educational Institutions as issued by UGC.
  • "The Circular of the Education Department, Government of Karnataka dated 16/08/1999 on Prohibition of Ragging in Colleges and Hostels."

  • UGC Regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 Ragging is a criminal offense and UGC has framed regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions in order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging.
  • "The Circular of the Education Department, Government of Karnataka dated 16/08/1999 on Prohibition of Ragging in Colleges and Hostels."

Objective:

  • Continuous watch and vigil over ragging by the College and prompt action against the incidents.
  • Students are encouraged to report any ragging act witnessed or experienced by them to the college Principal or Anti-ragging committee.
  • The Institution ensures the confidentiality of such a disclosure by the student.
