Dr. NSAM PU College organised Ugadi celebration .

​ Dr. NSAM PU college celebrated ​the first cultural event for the academic year 2017-2018, with the celebration of Ugadi on 28/03/2017. Dressed up in traditional attire, in a wholly festive spirit, students embellished the floors as well as the doors with flowers and leaves ​and lamps. This was followed by a sumptuous potluck and traditional outdoor games

 

Dr. NSAM PU college organized a day trip to WONDER LA

​Students were eager to take a break after their 1st year final examination conducted in Feb 2017. Dr. NSAM PU college organized a day trip to WONDER LA on 22-3-2017 . Students of commerce and science along with 3 faculties enjoyed break and the amusement ride s.

 

Dr. NSAM PU College organised Saraswathi pooja.

​Count down begins for our II PUC students. Board exams start on March 9, 2017. Saraswathi pooja was organized for all the outgoing students to take the blessing from the almighty. On behalf of staff and management we wish all the outgoing students the very best for their board exams.

 

Dr. NSAM PU College organised the Annual Day for AY 2016-2017 on 6 Feb 2017.

​Dr. Manjunath, our chief guest, advised the students to excel in studies by effective utilizing the good infrastructure and amenities provided by the college. The event included several cultural events. The main awards were presented to Niteesh Kumar . S of II SCIENCE and Veenasree of II COMMERCE.

 

Farewell Day

​Dr. NSAM PU college organized a farewell day to out going students on 7th February 2017.The farewell party was organised by juniors with enthusiasm and teamwork. It was an occasion for the outgoing students to look back and reminisce the days that they spent in the Campus. The chief guest for the day was Prof. Shailaja shastri,HOD, Jain University.

 

A Light Channelling session

​A Light Channelling session, which is a meditation program, was conducted by a PUC staff on 4 February 2017 for both PUC and FGC students. The program taught students a simple and effective technique to enhance memory power and concentration. It also is a stress reliever and promotes the overall well-being of the individuals.

 

The ​PU Board organized ​a ​Kannada drama for both I and II PU students

​The ​PU Board organized ​a ​Kannada drama for both I and II PU students this month (Jan 2017)​ . PUC I students saw the play "Bole Sankara", which is included in the Kannada syllabus ​. PUC II students saw the play "Krishna Gowdara Aane." Students enjoyed both the shows.

 

Faculty Development Program organised on 11 Dec 2016

A FDP for PUC and FGC was organised on 11 ​Dec 2016. It was conducted by Dr. Shailaja Shastri, Professor and Head of the department, Psychology, Jain University. Dr. Shastri covered all aspects in intelligence and multiple intelligence. The session was very educative, informative and useful.

Thereafter, there were several events such as the Art and craft competitions ​(at the Nitte Architecture school), .Kannada nudi and debate​s, English debate​s​ and Quiz​es and cultural events​ (at the open air theater)​ .

The over all champion trophy was ​awarded to students of the VIJAYA JYOTHI school​.

The annual sport meet for PU students was held on 26-11-2016 at the NMIT ground, Students from both I and II PU competed in various track and field events.

 

Inter-College Fest at Sheshadripuram College

Students of I and II PU participated (in Nov 2016) in the inter-college fest at Sheshadripuram college. This was a fun filled event for the students.

 
 

Participation in Inter College Fest

Students from 1st ​PUC​ and 2nd ​PUC​ took part in ​an ​inter​-​college fest​ conducted by ​J​yana ​J​yothi college​. Lavanya of II COM 'A' won 1st place in drawing competition and Akash .K of I science won 3rd place in Kannada essay.​ We congratulate the winners and all the participants.

A workshop was conducted ​by teachers ​in ​the ​​SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE. The topic of discussion was the practical use of AutoCAD for II PUC computer science students.

Dr. NSAM First grade college organised a career counseling workshop for II PUC students on 8-11-2016​. A team from"INURTURE" consultants Mr. Sudhanshu and Ms. Chaitra along with Mr. Ramegowda, FGC faculty presented various careers and options that students can choose based on their passions.

Ethnic day was celebrated at Dr. NSAM PU campus

Ethnic day was celebrated on 26-10-2016 @ Dr. NSAM PU campus. Students were dressed in traditional attires and they spoke about their traditions and culture. Dr. Meera Krishnappa and Mrs. Rajalakshmy were the chief guest for the day. The Ethnic Day was a novel approach for students to learn more about the cultural diversity in the country. The objective was to promote universal brotherhood and help students understand the cultures and traditions of different States.

Team building activities were organized on 26-10-16 at NSAM PUC by our FGC lecturers Ms. Bhavya and Mrs. Swathi. Both I PUC and II PUC students at Dr. NSAM PU college participated. The students learnt about team work and how to work with team members.

Onam Celebration

On 12th September 2016, the college celebrated Onam. Floral carpet, (Pookkalam), Thiruvathirakkali (traditional Onam dance performed by women) and songs were performed on the eve of Onam. ​Talent Day

"Talent Day​"​ was held on ​01​ September 2016. The chief guest ​for the occasion was Mr. Murali Ramanathan, a playback singer and a reality show finalist. Guests of Honor were Mrs. Lakshmi and Mrs. Nisha​. Both the Guests of Honor are professional dancers. ​Tattoo Competition

A Tattoo Competition was held for PU students on 20th August 2016. The competition provided students an opportunity to showcase their talent with an expression of colour and design. The competition was a roaring success. The work was assessed for design, accuracy, detail and finishing.

         
   
 


Independence day celebration

Independence Day 2016 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at the college campus.

To Commemorate the sovereignty of our nation the Chief Guest, Dr. Patel, unfurled our tricolor flag and all present sang the National Anthem.

Dr. Patel addressed the gathering with his inspirational speech. His emphasis was on patriotism and our responsibility as citizens.

The cultural program comprised of well executed dances and songs by degree student and PUC students. The Program concluded with sweets being distributed to the students.

It was a day of joy. It was a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

         
 
 
         
     
 

Face Painting and Hair Styling Competition

The cultural committee held a face painting and hair styling competition on 13-August-2016. Students came alive with lots of colour and life. Students amply demonstrated their creative capabilities. We witnessed student artists unleashing their hidden potential by painting their models and creating hairstyles. The theme for hair style was Traditional or Modern and for face painting was patriotism.

     
     

​Faculty Development Programme

A FDP for PUC & FGC was organised on Aug 5 and 6, 2016. It was conducted by Dr Shailaja Shastri , Professor and Head of the Department, Psychology, Jain University. The session was a combination of learning and fun filled activities.

Dr Shastri covered all aspects of a teacher and student relationship including the adolescent behavioural pattern, generation gap, role of a teacher as a mentor, guide and counsellor. She gave tips to deal with changing behavioural pattern of students. She also emphasised on the importance of communicative skills including listening, empathy, power of words and work life balance.

The session was very educative, informative and useful for a teacher to be more productive in the present environment.

         
   
 


​Self-Defence Activity

July 27, 2016 - Mr Karthik S Kateel, Founder and Director of "Swaraksha For Women", a program for ladies of all age groups, conducted a demonstration on self-defence for both PUC and FGC students. The session was very lively, interactive and informative to all the girls. The demonstration was very relevant and useful given all that we read in the news these days. The session was a great inspiration. It helped all to be become more confident and self-reliant.

         
     
 


​Inter-class Sports

"Healthy body is the abode of a healthy mind."

Sports play a vital role in the physical and mental development of students. Keeping this in mind, the Sports department of Dr. NSAM FGC and PUC organized an inter-class competition for boys on July 27, 2016. Three were matches in three games --- Cricket, Volleyball and Football.

III B.Com 'B' emerged as the winners of the football match and I B.Com 'C' won the Cricket match. The volleyball match ended in a tie.

Students zealously participated in these games and cheered with great enthusiasm for their classmates.​

         
   
 


Parent-Teachers-Meet (PTM)

The first Parent-Teachers-Meet (PTM) of the academic year for I PUC students was held on 23rd July 2016. The agenda for the meeting was academics, attendance and discipline. The respective class in charges and subject in-charges gave feedback on the scholastic performance of students and gave tips on overall development. Parents expressed their satisfaction and thanked the faculty for their care and concern.



Essay Competition

On 23 July, the students participated in an essay competition where they penned essays in English, Hindi and Kannada. They were given three topics to choose from. The students participated with great enthusiasm and demonstrated their flair for writing.



Mehandi, Drawing and Painting Competitions

The cultural events for the academic year 2016-2017 was held on July 23. Mehandi, drawing and painting competitions were the debut cultural events on this day. All the participants exhibited their talents in a unique manner with different sketches, colours, paintings and mehandi designs. Various topics were given for the students to choose from.​

         
 
 


Fresher's Day

25 June 2016 was a memorable day in the life of every I PU student at Dr NSAM PU college. The day was filled with happiness, enthusiasm, excitement, joy, music and laughter. The program started with a prayer and lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the welcome address. Students of I PU were formally welcomed by senior student Veenashree. The chief guest for the day was Mr. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT. He welcomed all to the campus. He talked on the importance of discipline and positive attitude. Dr. Meera krishnappa, Principal, FGC addressed the gathering and wished all students good luck in their new journey at Dr NSAM PUC. Thereafter, there were several cultural events. Anjali.B and Brijesh were awarded the title of Ms and Mr Fresher.

The program concluded with the vote of thanks by senior student Hemashree and by a sumptuous lunch.

         
 
 
         
 
 


Orientation Day

Dr. NSAM PU College organized Orientation for I PUC students and their parents on 15/06/2016. Mrs. Sunitha Mahesh, Counselor and Director of CCD Creators, was the Chief Guest and the program facilitator. Guest of Honour was Shri Rohit Punja, Administrator, NET, Bangalore.

The program began with the rendition of invocation song by Senior students. Shri Rohit Punja addressed the gathering. He talked about the teamwork required among parent, student and teacher. He also stressed the need for early escalation and he encouraged students and parents to reach out to the teachers when they needed help. Welcome speech was delivered by the Principal, Mrs. K.P. Rajalakshmy. The Principal introduced all the faculty members. The students and parents were given an overview of the cultural and academic calendar for the year 2016-17 and the Rules of conduct at the college

Mrs. Sunitha Mahesh addressed Senior students. She spoke on goal setting, life skills and career prospects. She also addressed parents and gave tips on managing adolescents. Students of I PU had a campus tour followed by a session with Mrs. Sunitha. All the sessions conducted by Mrs. Sunitha Mahesh were interesting, valuable and informative.Parents expressed their gratitude for this rich experience.

P.T. Meeting

The first parents-teacher meeting for II PUC students for the academic year 2016-17 was held on 11-6-2016. The Principal and class in-charges addressed the gathering. The topics of discussion were academics, discipline, punctuality and regularity of students. Thereafter, the Class-in charges and subject-in-charges met parents individually and gave feedback on their ward's scholastic and non-scholastic performance.

World Environment Day Celebrations

Dr. NSAM PU college celebrated the World Environment Day 2016 at the college premises. The event co-ordinator Ms. Nanditha and members of Interact club and Eco club NEEM. Students prepared for the event by cleaning and decorating the college premises with reusable and recyclable waste materials. The event began with an invocation song followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Speeches by students and guests threw light on the importance of the World Environment day. The chief guest of the day, Shri Shashidar, Former president of Rotary Bangalore cosmopolitan, explained how one save environment resources for future generations. He talked about switching off fans and lights and closing water taps when not in use. The guest of honour Dr. Meera Krishnappa, Principal of FGC reiterated on the importance of pure air gifted by Mother Nature. As responsible citizens we need to plant as many saplings as possible and care them to get back our greenery and pollution free air. Our principal Prof. Rajalakshmy K.P emphasized the need of maintaining the balance between development with care for environment.

The function was followed with the interact club and Environment club - segregating of waste. Shri. Shashidar demonstrated the process of waste segregation with hands on demonstration to the enthusiatic students and faculty members.
